Tina Clark, LCSW
Tina received her BA in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach and her MSW, Master of Social Welfare, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
She has worked with individuals, families, and groups for over 15 years in government, private, and non-profit organizations. She conducts numerous trainings in the areas of mental health law, government compliance, risk assessment, and risk management.
Through her work in a wide variety of hospitals and clinics, Tina has gained a vast knowledge of mental health issues, treatments, and resources. She currently serves as Clinical Director for one of Southern California’s largest and most respected psychiatric hospitals and mental health facilities.
Michael has been active in the human potential movement since the early 70′s. He has been a practicing hypnotherapist for over thirty years. His extensive history with NLP goes back to its earliest days. He is a Master Practitioner and Trainer of NLP and hypnotherapy and is a member of the Hypnosis Education Association, the International Association of Counselors and Therapists and the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association. Michael is a representative to the Council of Professional Hypnosis Organizations. Michael trains hypnotherapists and NLP practitioners, serves as a mentor, and offers supervision groups throughout the US and UK. A frequent speaker at conventions, professional associations, colleges and churches, he maintains a private practice in Orlando, Florida.
Roy has practiced hypnosis since 1983, and is the published author of several books that are highly praised by professionals; and he is an experienced trainer. In addition to teaching professional hypnosis and advanced techniques to professionals around the world, he teaches self-hypnosis to groups and clients for personal or professional motivation. His hypnosis text, The Art of Hypnosis (3rd Edition, Crown House Publishing, 2010), is required reading at many schools of hypnosis around the world.
Dr.Wiens has a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Minnesota and a B.S. in psychology from Kansas State University. Her doctoral dissertation focused on the cellular mechanisms of learning and memory, with a focus on the formation of synaptic dendritic spines during development. As Katie transitioned into her post-doctoral fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (associated with the University of Southern California), her research focus shifted toward regenerative medicine. Katie is now an assistant professor of biology and neuroscience at small private university.
Brennan is a hypnotherapist and seminar facilitator who has always been fascinated by the brain, and has a degree in Cellular Biology with an emphasis in Neurophysiology. Brennan has studied various languages and spiritual traditions to find unifying principles between science, spirituality, and human behavior. It was this love of seeking patterns and understanding that made him feel so at home when he discovered Hypnotherapy. After graduating with honors from the Hypnosis Motivation Institute, Brennan was asked to serve as a faculty member and student mentor there. Years later, he is now the co-founder of 2 internet companies specializing in hypnotherapy audio, he has an international private practice as a hypnotherapist, and he owns a seminar & retreat company that teaches empowerment, productivity, and leadership around the world.
Michael Ellner develops and teaches CME courses in Mind-Body Pain Relief and Effective Medical Communication for PAINWEEK, the major medical conference for frontline pain clinicians. Ellner is a multi- award-winning hypnosis practitioner and educator. He has co-authored five books on self-empowerment and is the author of the highly acclaimed “BEDSIDE MANNERS: A Pain Clinicians’ Guide to Effective Medical Communication.” Ellner has been published in a peer reviewed journal and is often quoted in medical and hospital trade publications, as well as national womans’ magazines like Good Housekeeping and Woman’s World.
Dr. Brian David Phillips, an internationally known and respected hypnosis practitioner, educator, author, and entertainer. Dr. Phillips is President of the Society of Experiential Trance, is the editor of the peer-reviewed Journal of Experiential Trance and was the founding editor of the peer-reviewed Journal of Applied Hypnotic Arts and Sciences. Dr. Phillips is an associate professor at National Chengchi University. He has taught numerous workshops and seminars on hypnosis, focused trance, and experiential hypnosis as well as a number of webinars on these and related subjects.
Laura Chapman, MSN, PMHNP
Ms. Chapman has her Master’s Degree in Nursing and Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate from Azusa Pacific University. She received her Health Teaching Credential from California State University, Fullerton.
Ms. Chapman has taught students of all ages, from elementary school children to graduate level nurses to teaching physicians laser medical technology. Laura has over 20 years in the medical profession and is presently working in the community mental healthcare setting in Los Angeles, CA.
Founder of the Mitchell Institute for Professional Hypnosis and Personal Motivation Hypnosis Clinics with four successful clinics in Illinois. He is a Certified Instructor for the National Guild of Hypnotists and also an adjunct faculty member at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, IL serving on their Complementary and Alternative Medicine Panel. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts from Culver-Stockton College with a Missouri Secondary Teaching Certificate in Social Studies and graduate theological education at Texas Christian University Brite Divinity School and Phillips University Graduate Seminary in Oklahoma with an earned Master of Divinity.
Stephen Odom, MS, MFT
Stephen Odom has been working in hospitals and healthcare for the past 25 years. He currently works as a licensed marriage and family therapist and maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Newport Beach, California. He also provides Organizational Development consulting focused on healthcare and serves as the Director of Program Development for Sober Living by the Sea, CRC Health Group facility in Newport Beach. Stephen served as the Administrative and Clinical Director of the Chemical Dependency Recovery Center at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach for the five years. Prior to joining Hoag, five years were spent in a solo private practice and as an adjunct-faculty University psychology and early childhood development instructor, where he was named Adjunct Faculty of the year in 2005. Prior to that time, nine years were spent as a clinical manager in a hospital-based Chemical Dependency/ Dual Diagnosis program in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Stephen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior from Covenant College (Lookout Mtn. GA); Master’s degrees in Experimental (Univ. of Tennessee) and Clinical Psychology(Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, Palo Alto, CA); and Ph.D. candidacies in Clinical Psychology (PGSP) and Healthcare Administration (Capella University).
James Hazlerig, MA, CHP
James Hazlerig holds an M.A. in English, and he enjoys bringing his experience in linguistic structure and narrative technique to his work as a hypnosis practitioner. He attended HPTI on a full scholarship, graduating in December 2012, and is proud to be the first HPTI graduate to become an HPTI instructor. In addition to running a private hypnosis practice in Austin, Texas, where he helps with smoking cessation, stage fright, and other issues, James volunteers as a meditation and mindfulness teacher for prison inmates in recovery.
